Transcript of the Tinychat with @itsinsider
[15:32] itsinsider: hey nathan...
[15:32] gilliatt: hi susan. sorry no camera.
[15:33] itsinsider: @nathan. bummer
[15:33] gilliatt: or lucky for me. :-)
[15:34] suds: Hi Susan
[15:34] itsinsider: hi there.
[15:34] mtausendpfund: hi all
[15:34] suds: its sadagopan(EI)
[15:44] frogpond: the focal points of the adoption council - how to proove the value, what metrics make sense, how to rationalize and argue
[15:48] itsinsider: yikes. anyone have a question?
[15:48] frogpond: well, only a handful of #bigcos are really active in #enterprise20, and not all are employing 'strategic' thinking #nosurprise, yes, but still 80
[15:49] sagenet: Could you please talk about success factors in 2.0 adoption especially importance of technology versus organizational issues?
[15:52] sagenet: Hearing you speak about the pharmaceutical company have you seen any difference in adoption rates between companies in highly regulated versus less regulated industries?
[15:54] frogpond: @sagenet good question, my take is that the soft issues are **essential**, yet as @ITSinsider says it's not easy to get budget/insight/understanding/buy-in for them
[15:57] gilliatt: thanks, susan. sorry i have to miss the rest, but have to go to another appt.
[15:59] frogpond: hmm, agree, I am seeing this too, interest in E20 is higher when there's a high percentage of knowledge workers (cross-industry, ie. generic rule of thumb) - both ability and need are there in their jobs
[16:01] sagenet: You mentioned projects happening in business lines. Can you speak to implicatons for IT in the organization as 2.0 tool adoption increases?
[16:03] sagenet: Susan, can you please speak to how your members are measuring success and what measures they are using that satisfy management's requirements for proof of ROI?
[16:08] anadatagirl: Susan, do you agree with implementation advices that say "start with a small pilot project, prove its success and then let it spread virally inside the company"?
[16:11] gilyehuda: Hello!
[16:11] itsinsider: hi gil
[16:12] anadatagirl: thank you Susan
[16:13] sagenet: Thanks Susan and all. Terrific dicussion.
[16:13] itsinsider: thanks everyone
[16:13] frogpond: thx all, and CU in Frankfurt
[16:14] itsinsider: here to answer questions directly if anyone's still logged in...
[16:14] frogpond: last crosspost from Twitter to the pilot thing: "hmm, I was pitching this pilot approach for #enterprise20 a long time, yet (and not only since @michaelido) I am tempted to say: "Skip it"
[16:15] itsinsider: @frogpond it depends. if you can create enough buzz and demand for a pilot effort to go global... definitely worth it.
